England and Nigeria have faced each other twice: the two teams drew 0-0 at the 2002 World Cup, while the Three Lions won a friendly 1-0 back in 1994.
Team news

Eric Dier and Kieran Trippier are set to start for England against Nigeria in the first of their two World Cup warm-up matches.

Standard Sport understands the Tottenham duo are likely to be involved from the outset at Wembley with Liverpool pair Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold set to miss the game having been given extended leave following last weekend’s Champions League Final.

Dier is likely to anchor England’s midfield in Henderson’s absence while Trippier will be given the opportunity to nail down a right wing-back position for which Alexander-Arnold now provides genuine competition.

Gareth Southgate is keen to use Kyle Walker as a right-sided centre-back in Russia, meaning Trippier and Alexander-Arnold are in a straight fight for a spot on the right flank.

Henderson is considered a key player by Southgate and, fitness pending, is likely to be in the starting line-up for England’s Group G opener against Tunisia on June 18.
